Celebrate 25 years for CRWP!
Join us in celebrating our 25th Anniversary at the Artists for Nature Gala and Art Auction on September 2nd in Cordova, Alaska to raise $25,000 to jump-start our next 25 years.
In the Copper River Watershed Project’s early years, there was a collaborative effort between the founding members of CRWP and the Netherlands-based Artists for Nature Foundation to bring twenty-two artists to Cordova to visit the largest wetland on the Pacific Coast of North America, the Copper River Delta and to create works of art inspired by the landscape and wildlife. The result was an exhibition of art and the book “Alaska’s Copper River Delta” to advocate for the sustainable use of resources in the region.
In the spirit of this milestone, we've rekindled our connection with the Artists for Nature Foundation, shipping the artwork back to Cordova for our upcoming gala. Guided by the curation of David Rosenthal, select masterpieces will be available to be viewed for the first time in over 2 decades (many of our pieces are not in the book) through silent and live auctions, offering patrons the chance to own a piece of delta history. Our guest chef, Chef Cesar Figueroa will provide various appetizer bites, inspired by local resources, including Simpson Bay oysters alongside wines, desserts, and champagne.
